Connecting

Guided by lifelong learning and a deep commitment to health equity, I support efforts that create meaningful change in health and well-being both at the individual and community level.

I bring an integrative lens to health that weaves together nutrition, medicine, and cultural knowledge—grounded in the pillars of lifestyle medicine: nourishing food, movement, restful sleep, stress resilience, meaningful connection, and a strong sense of purpose. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside non-profits, governments, and Indigenous organizations to develop strategies that honour Indigenous self-determination in both food systems and primary care.

Currently, I’m working to establish Noongwa Wellness—a place-based, Indigenous-led primary care and healing space located on the cliffs of Sydney Bay in Neyaashiinigmiing. Rooted in community, culture, and connection to land, Noongwa Wellness reflects a vision of health care that is relational, grounded, and responsive to community-identified needs.

My academic training includes a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition from Toronto Metropolitan University, a Master of Public Health from Lakehead University, and a medical degree and rural family medicine residency from McMaster University.

I am Anishinaabe, a member of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation in Ontario and connected to Elsipogtog First Nation in New Brunswick.. I welcome opportunities for collaboration, reflection, and collective action toward more just and culturally grounded health systems.
